In the children's library "Rainbow" in Pskov, they told about the possibility of participating in the international prize "Ecology is everyone's business"
The North-Western Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor took part in the opening of the II ecological festival "Clean City" in the children's library "Rainbow" in Pskov.
As part of the event dedicated to the International Earth Day, Gennady Polotsky, Deputy Head of the North-Western Interregional Department of Rosrpirodnadnadzor, spoke about the possibility of participating in the third season of the International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is Everyone's Business", established by the Federal Service for Supervision of Environmental Management in 2021. Acceptance of applications started on March 1, 2023. Gennady Polotsky noted that in previous seasons the Pskov region participated in the award, but not as actively as we would like. In 2021, only 5 applications were received for the competition, in 2022 the indicator improved and the number of applications increased to 300. In 2023, I would like the region to be more actively involved in the work. There are many talented and caring children in the Pskov region, the representative of the department stressed.
At the same time, information was brought to the attention of the participants of the meeting, among whom were representatives of regional executive and legislative authorities, specially protected natural territories, public organizations about an increase in the number of nominations within the framework of the award in 2023.
The number of nominations has been increased from 9 to 12, "Eco-education", "Ecotourism" and "Ecology of the Soul" have been added to the previously existing ones. Tenth graders from school No. 20 Pskov, who participated in the event, showed interest in the award and asked questions about the nominations, participation formats and deadlines for submitting applications.
