Federal partner of the International Children's and Youth Award of Rosprirodnadzor "Ecology is everyone's business", SochiThe Grand Hotel "Zhemchuzhina" hosted the first family of the winner of the competition in March. 

Nine-year-old Anton Orlov received a special prize in the nomination "Ecotrends: Ecoaction" as part of the team "Children of a Special Planet" from Stupino near Moscow. According to Svetlana Ermilova, the general director of Zhemchuzhina, Anton came to Sochi with his parents. 

The Grand Hotel "Zhemchuzhina" allocated 10 vouchers to the participants of the award and their families and mentors as a special prize. In total, almost 40 people will be able to rest on the Black Sea coast until the end of June.

The general director of the hotel believes that in the modern world it is vital to pay attention to the preservation of the environment. "At the Pearl Grand Hotel, we have gradually implemented a number of environmental initiatives – in particular, we introduced waste sorting, replaced all lamps with energy-saving ones, began using environmentally friendly cosmetics and installed induction cookers for the catering service," she said. 

Ermilova also said that everyone in her family tries to observe the principles of respect for the environment: they sort garbage, use water and electricity sparingly. The General Director of the hotel congratulated the winner of the special prize on winning the competition and wished him and his family a great holiday.  

The main objective of the project is to raise the level of environmental culture among young people, identify talented children and adolescents, encourage them and conduct environmental education, popularize the topic of ecology and respect for nature. Over the past six months, 9.5 thousand applications have been received for the award. According to the results of the competition, almost 200 finalists from 27 regions of Russia received awards.
