The head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova, who initiated the international children's and youth award "Ecology is everyone's business" and the famous traveler Fyodor Konyukhov launched this year's competition.

"We decided to make the international award an annual one. Because we consider ecology a very important topic. It is necessary to change the attitude of people to the preservation of nature and the environment. The previous year showed that our children, the participants of the award, are ready to solve environmental problems. The task of adults is to pay attention to what they care about," Svetlana Radionova said at a meeting with Fyodor Konyukhov. - Last year we received almost 10 thousand applications for the contest, and believe me, children and teenagers were concerned about such topics as clean air, clean water, conservation of rare species of animals, plants and birds. Every voice in support of ecology is important to me. Therefore, I am glad that you have joined us, Fyodor Filippovich – a well-known and beloved traveler who has seen a lot in life, appreciates nature and what surrounds it. Thank you for supporting the award and you understand that ecology is everyone's business."

According to Svetlana Radionova, it is extremely important that activists, public figures and ordinary people also make efforts and take care of the world around us, draw attention to environmental problems. Participation in "green" actions and projects, according to the head of Rosprirodnadzor, should be a conscious choice of every person, because each of us is responsible for the world around us.

In turn, Fyodor Konyukhov said that the environmental agenda is important for him, because it allows people to remain romantics.

"Why am I talking about romance? If a person is a romantic, he will not harm nature, pollute the Earth, because first of all he loves people with all his heart. When I met Svetlana Gennadievna, the first thing I saw was that her eyes were burning, she was a romantic and loved our Russia. We live together on the same planet and therefore it is equally important that trees grow in Africa and Siberia. I've been to all continents and seen a lot. I have learned one thing: the Lord God created our planet and the world, and he created it very beautiful. There are no ugly places, ugly people or something bad on the globe, because the Lord God could not create the ugly... And the children's prize is a wonderful initiative and very necessary, I congratulate everyone on the start of this year's project," said Fyodor Konyukhov.

The International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is everyone's business" has announced a new season from March 1 to October 1, 2022. Starting this year, children aged 6 and teenagers aged 17 will be able to participate in the award. At the same time, there will be three age categories in individual nominations: from 6 to 9 years old, from 10 to 13 years old and from 14 to 17 years old.

Changes in the new season of the award also affected the number of nominations. Children and teenagers will be able to compete in 9 categories, including 7 individual and 2 team. So, in the individual championship, creative works will be in the nominations: "Ecomir", "Ecoproject", "Ecoblogger", "Ecorisunok", "Ecofocus", "Ecomultfilm", "ESG-generation". Teams will be able to take part in the "Eco-family" and "Eco-School" nominations. Promotions, flash mobs, group exercises, environmental swims and other initiatives where more than one contestant participates can be presented in these categories. Creative and non-standard solutions are welcome in all works. Dances, songs, poems or rap can decorate the contest entries.

Another innovation of the year will be the nomination "ESG-generation". The new trend has not been left aside and is designed to draw attention to this topic. The new nomination may include works dedicated to initiatives in the field of eco-tourism or the development of a concept for a new modern production that meets environmental requirements. The participant can present his vision of the environmental friendliness of enterprises or involve representatives of the authorities or the public in an environmental campaign or flash mob.

The International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is Everyone's business" was established by Rosprirodnadzor on March 31, 2021. In the first year of the project's existence, 9.5 thousand applications were received from children and adolescents from all regions of Russia and 28 countries of the world. 6000 works were accepted and over 650 were included in the final shortlist.
